Broski…Filipino metallic hardcore/beatdown band STAB are back with yet another frickin’ banger. The track is entitled ‘Your Enemy’ which starts with a sick bass guitar/drum groove before those signature hard-hitting vocals drop. Then it’s off to riff mountain for the rest of the track.
Band rules.
As always, we always feel very lucky that when we DM a band, they’re always so generous with their time to respond immediately. Here’s what the band had to say:
“We feel that hardcore has always been rooted in authenticity, passion, and community. The song carries that weight— that this isn’t just a genre but how you choose to live your life which also means having the spine to stand up for something, not a passing hype. But not everybody gets it.”
The band even gave us a cool BTS about the track itself which features Matthew of San Jose band NHI.
“For the song feature, we actually got the chance to hang out with Matthew of NATURAL HUMAN INSTINCT when he came to the Philippines, since he also has Filipino (bisaya) blood. John Carlo of HOSTILE YOUTH hit us up and brought Matthew to Music Lab (we were having band rehearsals at the time) and since Matthew is from San Jose and knows the song “2 shotz” from HANDS OF GOD, he got the chance to play drums for us since it was a cover we often include in our set. We hung out the rest of the night after that. I also think stab has a lot of bay area bands as influences, and we thought that he would be perfect for the feature, especially now that we’ve become friends. We’re absolutely stoked to open for and play with NHI this September 30.”
