Nurtured by the raw intensity of metal and the haunting introspection of post-rock, Hong Kong metalcore act INSTINCT OF SIGHT return with a new single entitled ‘Boundary Syndrome 界限症’. Ferocious guitar walls collide with suffocating waves of distortion, channeling rage against the digital epoch. Within this chaos, humanity fractures: souls devoured by social media’s quantified worth, minds imprisoned by algorithmic cages, and a plague of ideological isolation bred by information silos.
Vocalist Noa lays bare the song’s heartbeat: *”We’re being domesticated by digital survival rules. The *truth* you can’t buy, the *feelings* data can’t measure—those are the lines we must defend. The sparks of love, the flickers of empathy… *that’s* the beauty worth clinging to. Self-love, love for others—it bleeds through the noise.”* The track claws inward, a raw plea to cherish vulnerability—even the sorrow of caring too much—while documenting a generation’s baptism by fire.
Growling bassist Evin frames their art as existential rebellion: *”For our peers—better to be a jagged nail than a polished pebble.”* Lyrics like *”Born into siege / Refuse to be a docile insect”* scream defiance against systemic indoctrination. Music becomes the last trench of resistance; within the cracks of industrial distortion, unbroken souls still shimmer.
Sharper, fiercer, Instinct of Sight now carves into modernity’s festering wounds. As *《Boundary Syndrome》* rips open the rot of digital civilization, a truth emerges: in the matrix of quantified existence, the tremors of un-datafied emotion remain humanity’s final sanctuary.
