2 posts in a row about long-running Malaysian hardcore-metal bands…this time we have a brand new RAGER of a track by NARATU entitled ‘Neurosis’.
The band sent in a whole bunch of sick background info – so get to reading:
“It’s been a long time since we last put something out – ‘Mata Pendusta’ in 2021. we’ve been actively playing shows and reconnecting with the scene. The energy from being back on stage, face to face with people – it really pushed us hard to start writing music again and express more deeper in our song composition.”
“Another big change for us was bringing Rain from CYCRYPTIC into the band as our new guitarist. That move definitely shaped our new sound. Rain brought in a fresh perspective – more intensity, helped us make our music more vibrant and dynamics, and that’s very clear in “Neurosis”.”
“With ‘Neurosis’, we’re setting the tone for what’s coming up next. Right now we are more focused on writing new songs and making music together. Compared to our older material, “Neurosis” is a big step forward in terms of technicality, aggression and atmosphere. We’re still rooted in hardcore but this new sound is heavier, more mature and more intentional. The song is about betrayal, blind loyalty and how people can be manipulated under the guise of faith, power, or so-called moral superiority. It’s a reaction to hypocrisy, especially from figures or systems that preach righteousness but act with cruelty. Lines like “Kata Jihad, Kau Penipu” directly confront that. It’s about betrayal, corruption, blind faith and how people twist religion or power for personal gain. It’s about solidarity, standing up together even when everything feels like it’s falling apart. The line “Jatuh Sama” (we fall together) and “Bangkit Sama” (we rise together) isn’t just a lyric – it’s a mindset and collective struggle.”
Let’s go.
