Hong Kong indie rock band Teenage Riot have returned with a brand new single entitled ‘Doomed’ with a music video streaming below. The track comes off the band’s upcoming as-of-yet-untitled THIRD full length to be released sometime in 2023. Third albums for a band in Hong Kong are definitely a rarity and what’s even rarer is a band in Hong Kong whose full lengths ALL have vinyl releases. Bananas…(if you’re wanting to grab a copy of Teenage Riot’s vinyl versions, and you definitely NEED them, go hit up Infree Records right now and order away! HERE).
According to the band, “This song is about a love story during the hard times of these past few years here hence the title ‘Doomed’. Also, we are never shy about the way we brazenly copy our favorite bands and artists. This song too. This is us trying to copy Jim O’Rourke and Death Cab For Cutie. What do you all think?”
“I go to you when you’re
Proving nothing’s true
And everything we want
Is doomed”
The band’s 3rd album is currently being mixed after a year of recording with members working on it in different locations. As mentioned above, this record comes after their phenomenal previous two full-lengths ‘The Revenge’ (2015) and ‘Mother Father Peace and Love’ (2019) both streaming further below (we’ve also added a 6-track EP released in between).
Go follow the band on all their socials…let them know people around the world care. (Reading the comments under the youtube video are super heart-warming)
“We go to each other
And we sing this song
For the things we built
Together”
😭
