Things were going well for us here in Hong Kong in terms of maintaining the virus that shows were back on starting June. And then this week hit and cases went back up again and thus…shows have been canceled again. One venue that was excited to relaunch shows was a venue called Sai Coeng. This Saturday night was going to feature bands from Hong Kong’s more heavy bands such as Dagger, Meats, Bastardon, and new band Streets of Rage.
But by government orders, venues are shut again.
The venue has decided to turn the event into a launch of its first-ever audio-only Online Broadcast platform. This Saturday at 8pm (Hong Kong Time) the show will go on as normal and all 4 bands will perform live for you to hear through their online broadcast platform – link below.
Here’s what the venue has to say:
“Due to another wave of Coronavirus, ”SaiCoeng#13” will take place online, as an audio-only live broadcast instead. Our space will NOT BE OPEN to any of our private members.
This will be our first ever attempt to engage with fellow music lovers by going online, and we will focus our limited resources towards delivering the best AUDIO stream we can. We have chosen Mixcloud for the availability of 320kps audio quality on their platform.
We believe the Live Music experience can never be substituted by live streaming in any way, shape or form; while we completely understand some might be disappointed by the lack of live visual feed with our upcoming broadcast, we encourage you to still tune in and immerse yourself by listening to the bands we will showcase.
The live broadcast will commence at 8pm (UTC/GMT +08:00) on 18/7/2020 and you can tune in and join us

*Mobile users must download and install the Mixcloud mobile app and register an account with them in order to access the broadcast
The link is open for public circulation, but we’d like to ask for a contribution of $80HKD or more from each listener to help us cover our operating costs.
Payment can be made via:
Payme (Scan QR Code) OR
Paypal – paypal.me/saicoenghk
Thank you for your kind support! Wishing best health to you all during this turbulent time!”
