When you play a certain type of music that is more a culture and a lifestyle, then you go out of your way to spread the gospel. Many of us try creating zines, websites, record labels, and DEFINITELY put on shows.
Hong Kong is one of those interesting cities where though it is a world renown city, there is little known about the music that comes out of here. When you live here, it’s even more fascinating that in such a large city with so much rich history, there isn’t a vibrant punk rock, hardcore, grindcore, powerviolence, etc scenes. That certainly doesn’t stop little pockets of people to go out and try to make a change.
Local thrash metal stalwarts Charm Charm Chu have recently joined forces with another Hong Kong based thrash metal group of monsters – Indenial – and China bass band Hexfire to launch the first in hopefully many more all thrash-metal events in Hong Kong. The title is badass – BayThrash.
Check out the music below and head to the show on April 20!
