Hardcore Band STRANGLE Give Us a Track By Track Breakdown of Killer New Album [Nepal]

MAD respect to Nepali hardcore band STRANGLE for dropping a banger of a new album to close off the year! We’ve been supporting this band since day one and are always stoked that they will give us so much of their time to allow us to update the world about what they’re up to.

They just released a new album and celebrated it in style (live video further below)! The band was kind enough to give us a track by track breakdown of the record. The full album is streaming further below too.

Sinking Ship
This is the first track on the album and was also the first song we wrote for the record. This song is about how the same thing keeps happening again and again – just new names ready to exploit us. We are all drowning in this together.

Dud Bhat
Dud bhat is a Nepali word which means ‘milk rice’. This word was mostly used when we were kids and played games with friends. Dud bhat is used to describe someone who pretends to be neutral, but plays on both sides. This song is about this person.

Sab Jhuto
Sab jhuto is also a Nepali word which means ‘everyone’s a liar’. This is one of the slower, heavier songs on the album. This song is about the time when there is no one for you but you.

Passion Kills
We released a music video for this track. This song is about giving everything for something you love and getting hurt in the process and getting nothing from it.

Striving to Stay
This song is about the pain and struggle of surviving in this place. Where your dreams don’t come true and most of your friends have left. This song is for those who are still here struggling to live their lives.

Malai Jiuna Deu
Malai jiuna deu means ‘let me live’ in english. This is actually an old song that we dropped for some reason. We decided to bring it back and improve on it to make it on this record. It’s about a place where you don’t get what you want – no matter how much you’re screaming, no one’s hearing you.

Heaven
This last track on our album is different from the rest. This song is based on utopia which doesn’t exist
