“Half of The Members Are Straight Up Immigrants” LA Band BATHALA Drop Video [USA]

BATHALA is formed collectively from bands around Los Angeles California, from JACKKNIFE, HATE SPEECH, AGGROSTATE, and BACK TO GODHEAD, half of the members are straight up immigrants born and raised in the Philippines. The other half are 1st generation Americans born and raised in Los Angeles county.

“We are inspired by a lot of Los Angeles band especially Xibalba, Minority Unit, Zulu and Barrio Slam. As minorities here in America, we Asians/Filipinos have experienced so much racism. We believe in solidarity, for most of us hardcore/punk is not just music you listen to and go wild to. It’s a community and a safe space for everyone to express themselves, we stand with equality and diversity. No bullshit! To have mutual respect to each other with love and integrity. Either which race, beliefs, community you from solidarity and unity is the best option we have to smash racism, colonialism and all the injustice we’ve been facing.”
