Filipino metal act Faintlight release new live song

Filipino metal band Faintlight has released a live video of a new song entitled Rainfall. Yo – when the vocalist opens that mouth of his how is that not just pure magic? Amazing vocal chops on this homie from the Philippines.

Having never heard this band before I went to their Facebook page asap to check out their recorded material and was SUPER stoked to hear a style of metal that I couldn’t conveniently label under one genre title: metalcore, indie-rock, metal, etc…the first song off their debut full length Flight which was released back in 2013 starts off with a down-tuned metalcore style riff but then goes into a vocal section that has an Avenged Sevenfold type of groove, but then switch into a more indie-rock vibe shortly after. Goddamn – I gave up a few seconds after that and just enjoyed the music! Hahahaha…thanks Faintlight for reminding me to shut that brain off, stop overanalysing music and just enjoy it.
