Emotive punk band NEVERDIE have reunited with its classic, original lineup consisting of Tani Cariño (guitar, vocals), Bren Pasamba (guitar/vocals), Christer de Guia (guitar), Ralph Gonzales (bass, vocals), and Gabba Santiago (drums).
Initially beginning as a skate crew. the band was formed during the summer of 2009 and has gone on to become one of the most influential bands in the local DIY scene in the Philippines. After years of endless touring and some lineup changes, the band broke up in 2018, leaving many fans and scene contemporaries devastated. Since then, its members have kept themselves busy with their respective passion projects, namely, Tani playing guitars for Irrevocable, Lindenwood and PUNT, Ralph playing bass for The Mind is a Terrible Thing, and Gabba pursuing a solo career as a math rock virtuoso.
Fast forward 5 years later, Neverdie will be reuniting on December 9, 2023 for a one-off show to commemorate the 10th-year anniversary of their debut full-length effort Life I Lead (2013) and the 5th-year anniversary of its sophomore follow-up Carry On (2018).
The gig will be held at Mow’s, Quezon City and the band will be joined by their friends from The Mind is a Terrible Thing, Mindless Pop, Poetryonherskin, Skylines Forget, and Speak for Yourself. With the help of Las Piñas-based DIY record label Calm Lake Records, Life I Lead will be re-released physically in CD format, both in its vanilla packaging and a limited 10th Year Anniversary Special Edition which includes pictures, a lyrics sheet, and liner notes from Agee Liñan of Thought Market. Along with this, Neverdie’s last album, Carry On will also be released physically for the first time.
The CDs and tickets to the show are now available for purchase on the Calm Lake Records website.
