Check out Malaysian doom sludge act Runtuh on their first new material of 2022 that also features a new lineup.
Full write up:
“Following some major changes after their debut release ‘Dissolution’ in 2021, the band has come back refreshed with a new trio lineup consisting of members, Wak (24 Reasons, FTTD) & Hafiz (Body Rag, Bohr) on frontline guitar duties and original member Trishay (Ksyatriya) taking over drumming & vocal duties.
Their latest album reflects a significant departure from the emotional/depressive style characterized in their debut release and instead, finds them delving deeper into a harsher, grittier, more nihilistic sphere of sound, form, and thematic context.
This is directly aligned with the band’s intention of addressing topics of social disorder and hypocrisy, bigotry, political corruption, and modern slavery.
The band humbly offers up 5 crushing songs that navigate the loss of one’s humanity and freedom at the hands of autocratic oppression and control.”
