GODDAMN!!!! Malaysian hardcore punk band FINAL RUN return with 2 insane tracks. “This upcoming full length pulls from a wide spectrum of heaviness and chaos. We were really inspired by PALM, Deafheaven, Trap Them, Vein.fm, and of course Converge during the writing process. All of that influence comes together in our full-length which is fast, chaotic, emotional, noisy. It’s still Final Run, but we’re pushing ourselves further than before, both technically and emotionally,” state the band. And on these 2 tracks especially, all those influences are clear as day – yet at the same time, the band bring their own touch to this darker, more abrasive style of hardcore.
With songs this moody and melancholic yet aggressive too, lyrically, they gotta be pulling from some darker material. “Lyrically, the songs are rooted in frustration, not just personal, but collective. We’re responding to the current geopolitical climate, where everything feels unstable. It’s about feeling powerless, yet still carrying that anger that refuses to die out. At the same time, we’re channelling the real-life struggles we see and live through, mental health, burnout, disillusionment, and the feeling of being trapped in a system that doesn’t care.”
Lucky us, all of these tracks will be featured on the band’s upcoming full length. “We’re aiming for a release later this year or early 2026. We’re wrapping up the final tracking and mixing/mastering process. We’re doing it all ourselves and with people close to us, so there’s no compromise in the sound or message. It’s coming soon, and we’ve put a lot into it, we hope it resonates when it arrives.”
Hot diggity – LET’S GO.
