This is probably one of the coolest ideas for a hardcore band I have seen in some time…

LC93 (Lion City 93 – a name that memorializes the release of the classic Lion City 93 hardcore compilation that came out under the same moniker) is a hardcore band from Singapore whose sole purpose is to cover music by OTHER Singaporean hardcore bands. Not only that, but they have dedicated themselves to covering songs by Singaporean bands from the 90’s era. What?! Isn’t that cool as shit?! Check out the description on their Facebook page:

“LC93 is a Hardcore band from Singapore playing local 90s old school covers. We believe that many local GENUINE & forgotten 90s bands are truly under rated & deserves as much respect & homage as international bands. LC93 consists of original members from Lion City Hardcore Compilation released in 1993.”

The key sentence that you all need to re-read is this:

We believe that many local GENUINE & forgotten 90s bands are truly under rated & deserves as much respect & homage as international bands.

Fuck yeah…that’s super rad and a great way to validate your scene! The band also features members of legendary bands Voiceout & 51 year-old Suhaimi Subandie of Stompin Ground/4-Sides/ Suhaimi & the Union Of Equals.

Go Singapore!

Oh come on… enough with the spirit of 90’s hardcore already. There are more newer bands that need support than these bunch.. Btw,some of these guys in that band don’t even contribute anything to the scene. They just came, play music and shows and years later to be remembered as HC legends? No way jose… Kids,go support bands that really need support. Not some old school legend with expensive equipments and technical guitar sound and shit.Remember, nothing last forever.
