Check Out Grindcore Band Blakole On Debut EP [India]

Stoked to accidentally come across bands that blend the worlds of hardcore and punk together for a killer grindcore-esque sound! Check out Indian band Blakhole on their EP ‘Natural Rejection’.

The band were kind enough to give us some more info about themselves and this particular release. “We grew up listening and covering songs by Ramones, Black Flag, Sex Pistols, Discharge, Napalm Death, Agnostic Front, and Motorhead. In a country where having access to this music was not really easy, we chose to find these guys and jam to their songs. Little did we know that we’d manage to put together an album back then. What our objective was to be loud. The louder we get, the further it goes inside the head. With that in mind, we went ahead and sought out grindcore as the best way to express our ideas and our sound.”

And on the EP front, “The pandemic. In a country where lies are covered up every day with mounds of more lies, the pandemic was a curse. The ugly truth started taking off its mask a bit by bit and people lay homeless in every nook and corner of the country just because the authority wanted it to. Songs like “Mandemic” and “Human Cattle” goes down with the emotions of the not-so-privileged suffering through the disease, homelessness, and starvation. All they wanted was to go back home and have a meal with their family. And what they got instead was panic and uncertainty that they might die any moment. Truly one of the scariest moments of human history.

One fine day during the pandemic lockdown, we decided to write these songs. We were not able to meet for over a year and we did this album from our homes. We loved our homes and it only bugged us that there are people in the streets right now who are only dreaming of going back home.”
