Brilliant 80s Inspired Hardcore Punk Act INVALID FORMAT Re-Release Demo [Malaysia]

Malaysian hardcore punk act INVALID FORMAT are getting a 7″ re-release of their brilliant demo from back in 2018 courtesy of Singapore label Vanilla Thunder Records.

Labelhead had this to say:

“I’ve always wanted to do something for the band since the first time I heard the demo. It reminds me of the good old 80’s style HC, which would fit perfectly on labels like Dischord or Mystic. They sounded like kids whipping up some 3-chord HC in their garage, very loose and snotty. Usually, this kinda style is pretty hot in Indonesia, and when we found out about the band, it was just a no-brainer. We contacted them about 4 years ago and they were already game to do this but since they’re in the middle of doing a new ep, we waited for that instead, then we got so busy with our lives and the label was gaining ground really fast, we put this project on the back burner. It wasn’t until the start of 2023 when we saw them live that it reignited the whole idea again. So finally we got down and start working on it. Finally, it’s ready, 25 copies, clear round lathe cuts, and comes with spray paint covers.”
