We know amazingly healthy scenes with VERY strong eco-systems that allow for underground bands to exist are alive and well in places like Japan and Indonesia. But it’s always exciting to find out about new labels or endeavors in lesser-known Asian communities.
Our friends in Vietnamese black metal band Elcrost have taken the next step and launched their own record label entitled House of Ygra.
Congrats to the crew! Go read their awesome write-up below.
Head to their socials and leave them a message!

“Hello everybody,
We are Elcrost, a black metal act from Hanoi, Vietnam. Today we are very glad to announce the creation of our label, House Of Ygra.
This is a project we have been silently planning for the past year, after receiving such a great response from you guys about our music and art. Furthermore, we have witnessed such a huge growth within our local music scene, which still contains such exciting potential. The creation of House Of Ygra serves not only all future projects by Elcrost, but we will also introduce a lot of new musical acts still kept hidden from view.
With the motto, black metal, and unearthly music, it is very clear that we have our scope on black metal, a genre that is still underrepresented in our scene. However, in this house built by the Shapeshifter demon, Ygra, we welcome all music acts from every corner of sub-genres, providing that you follow the same path as us.
This is the beginning, this is our first sermon. In the coming weeks, we will shortly announce our initial lineup as well as the first-ever release through the label.
Thank you all for your support, please make sure to spread this message as far as you can.
Welcome to the house of Ygra, join us!”
