Asian Ska Community Festival – Online Live Festival Set For Aug 8 9AM Hong Kong Time

This is amazing.

Asian Ska Collective has organized a mammoth ska festival entitled ‘Asian Ska Community Festival‘ to take place on August 8 at 9am Hong Kong time featuring an all Asian ska lineup. The organizers stated, “The broadcast will be on Facebook and will feature recordings that bands sent to us, some are exclusive. What we want to do is to spread the idea of Asian ska in Mexico.”

When we asked our own Hong Kong band The Red Stripes about their thoughts, especially since this seems like a GREAT initiative, Paul, the bassist, had this to say:

“Asian Ska Collective was formed in Mexico to celebrate and promote the scene in Central and South America. Featuring bands from Japan, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Hong Kong, and South Korea we are delighted to bring 4 live tracks recorded on handheld camera at our album launch party in June.”
