Metalcore Band FRAGMENTS Drop New Single ‘END/OR’ [Philippines]

FRAGMENTS have released their latest single, “END/OR”. The visual-centric band also unveils a powerful music video alongside the track, offering a deeper glimpse into the world of END/OR.

The band states, “The song is a visceral dive into the mind of someone grappling with impostor syndrome and the slow erosion of self-worth. Raw, haunting and unrelentingly honest, the track captures the moment between collapse and resistance — when giving in seems inevitable, but something deep inside still refuses to let go.

From its eerie opening line — “This ain’t heaven / This ain’t hell / Just life eating us away” — to the explosive chorus and crushing breakdown, “END/OR” is a sonic portrayal of psychological warfare. Laced with dissonant melodies, brutal riffs, and introspective lyrics, the track blurs the line between despair and defiance. It doesn’t offer easy answers — only the relentless question of whether to let go or keep fighting.

While Fragments is often known for its anti-religious or politically charged themes, vocalist Niko turns the focus inward on this track, and it hits differently. “For this one, I stopped pointing outward and started asking myself the hard questions — what’s going on with me? Where is this pain coming from? Why am I angry all the time? Why do I feel like I’m not enough, even when I try? I went somewhere darker than I expected and confronted things I usually bury. I tried to write it as honestly as I could — no holds barred. ‘END/OR’ is about those thoughts that keep us up at night, the ones we never say out loud — not to our friends, not even to the people we love. And if those thoughts win… what’s left of us?”

Fittingly, the title “END/OR” also pays homage to a different kind of internal battle — it was inspired by Star Wars: The Battle of Endor, a fight between destruction and hope. The name took on new meaning for the band: END/OR represents a choice — to end, or to endure.

This is Fragments at their most vulnerable and most powerful.
