20 Years In, Hardcore Band, OPPRESSOR, Release Debut Music Video [Philippines]

20 years is a long ass time for a band to finally release a music video! That’s what long-running Filipino hardcore band OPPRESSOR has finally done with the release of a video for the track ‘Passion is the Reason’. When we asked why it took them 20 years to put one together, vocalist, Jedd, stated, “Honestly, we just never thought about making a video!” Respect the honesty!

The band states, “The whole video wasn’t really our idea either. Our good friend Jan Lim sent us a voice message saying he wanted to produce a video and would cover all the expenses to make it happen. He reached out to our friend Mike Lee, a filmmaker now living in the USA, to help with the project. Jan, who’s currently living in NYC, even booked Mike’s plane ticket to Bacolod. The crazy part was Mike only had two days in Bacolod, so we shot the video in just one day. The song itself is a tribute to our friends who had passed away and to our scene in Bacolod City, a small scene in the a small island in the Visayas region of Philippines.”

SICK.

This is also the first taste of the band’s upcoming full length to be released in 2025.

GO.
