Yes, we all love END. Fiercly. Passionately. But as a website, we’re more stoked to hear our own version of these bands that populate our amazing continent. There are tons of bands all over Asia that also enjoy that HM-2-drenched type of extreme music that we can also salivate over.
Here’s one to get y’all started.
Indonesian band COLD SKIN have just dropped their debut single off their debut EP. The band hails from Jakarta featuring dudes who’ve done time in SICK bands like Outrage, Limerence, and Displacement. We’re only telling you that though the world is over-saturated with new bands (especially these one-off “project” bands), some bands are worth your time simply because of the member’s previous output being so frickin stellar.
Guitarist and producer/engineer Praditya Eka Putra explains that their signature sound is driven by HM2/Swollen Pickle pedal through a 5150 amp, and are set to redefine the boundaries of heavy music. Cold Skin’s EP featured 5 tracks and promises to be an audio assault that will leave a lasting impact. In regards to the actual song streaming now, Praditya states, “The song is a metaphor for a cemetery that describes discouragement during the search for meaning in life. It seems as though your hope has been buried deep beneath the weight of your current situation. The lyrics also reflect thoughts on what it means to be alive, It’s about feeling like an outcast and not being able to fit in anywhere. Looking up the path for retaliation. And conflicts in that experience.”
The full EP will be out on Set The Fire Records.
