UKXASIA: Birmingham Hardcore Act STRANGLEHOLD Release New EP ‘Tried & True’

On with the UKXASIA connection, check out Birmingham hardcore band STRANGLEHOLD on their new EP ‘Tried And True’ streaming below. Four new tracks in the vein of Strife/Ecostrike/No Innocent Victim, by members of bands such as Suppress, Cruelty and Mantlet.

The band were kind enough to send in a track by track breakdown as well:

REBIRTH
Rebirth is a mega personal song to me, it’s all about my struggle with my mental health really. Just mainly about trying to never give up and fighting them dark thoughts.

TRIED & TRUE
The running theme for most of our songs is hardcore pride. This song is no exception, mainly to do with staying true to your beliefs and never bending for anyone else.

SIDELINE
This one’s all about snakes and rats in the scene. Tourists just jumping in and out when it suits them. Them fuckers using the scene for a fashion statement or trying to get clout.

TO THE END
At its most basic the songs about betrayal, but I wrote most of it with thoughts towards my dad to be fair. But I think it does a good job of summing up any feelings when you’ve been fucked over.
