Mad respect to Singapore grindcore band Wormrot for being so transparent over the past few months. As the band gears up to release their fourth album ‘Hiss’, they announced that their vocalist Arif was leaving the band but the remaining members vowed to carry on.
Last night the band announced that they’re now opening the door to anyone interested to fill those mighty shoes. What they’re looking for is clearly well thought out (as it should be for a band with such rich history and beloved by many all over the world). Love the “no inhales”, “please do not perform for us”, and of course, the “all genders are welcomed”. But the only real clincher is that said member (any gender) needs to reside in Singapore (which also makes sense). It’s cool to see their socials full of people saying “I’d move to Singapore!”
Here’s the full text from the band themselves:
“We’re looking for an extreme metal vocalist preferably with a range of vocal styles (low/mid/high screams, hardcore, powerviolence, etc. no inhales). However, it is NOT a strict requirement as we’re also looking out for unique voices.
ALL genders are welcomed.
We require videos with clear audio of you singing live to atleast five of our songs from VOICES. The more videos you take, the better. Please do not ‘perform’ for us. Additionally, a press kit and/or links to your past works and performances will also be helpful.
Submit your queries and application to [email protected] with the title ‘WR AUDITION – YOUR NAME’. All applications will be kept confidential.
Applicants must be based in Singapore.”
Go support this amazing band by telling your friends who you KNOW to have the chops to give it a try.
While the world has gone completely mad, this SHOULD be the time for aggressive bands to write hard music. Enter long-running Nepali hardcore powerhouse, STRANGLE, to provide you the...
