Thai Grindcore Duo CRAPGUM Unleash Debut EP [Thailand]

When our friends in INSANE Thai powerviolence band SPEECH ODD start a new project, you give it your full support. When it turns out the band is a grindcore duo called CRAPGUM? Even better.

The man, Nampan, guitarist of Speech Odd, says it best.

“Grindcore is something I’ve always been interested in so I wanted to try and express my thoughts through the music as a singer this time. I’ve always wanted to be a singer. It took me a long time to practice how to do this! I met Kitti because he came and helped SPEECH ODD out on drums a few times before. That’s how we eventually decided to put this project together!”

Kitti added, “I wanted to follow in the footsteps of the heavy metal bands that I’ve listened to but with what I had and the skills that I have.”

In terms of musical inspiration, the band list the following: Full of Hell, Dehumanize, Dying Fetus, Carcass, Magrudergrind, and Iron Lung.

Lyrically, the songs address issues of violence and this never-ending cycle perpetrated by power hungry people. They also address racism, genocide and issues of social inequality.
