Statement from REDVI – June 2025
(Tehran, Iran)
In a time of growing silence between explosions, we—REDVI—speak not just as musicians, but as people watching our city, our families, and our future held in the balance.
We are from Tehran. Right now, our home is in crisis. This is not fiction. It’s not a movie. This is real—lives lost, people displaced, and uncertainty gripping every breath we take. The current conflict has made it difficult for us to even hold rehearsals, but more importantly, it has made survival feel like the most brutal performance of all.
As artists shaped by chaos and defiance, we’ve often written about collapse. But now, those themes are no longer distant. They are the streets outside. They are our neighbors. They are the shadows under our doors.
We bow our heads in memory of the innocent lives lost in these recent attacks—citizens who did not choose this violence, but who bore its weight nonetheless. Every riff we write, every scream we record, now carries a little more of their memory.
Our latest single, Into the Abyss, was written before this escalation. But today, its meaning has deepened. It speaks to what we all feel now—that in the face of terror, we must resist; in the shadow of collapse, we must rise.
We’ve also begun writing a new piece, a track forged in the fire of this war. It will not be a headline or a slogan—it will be a raw, unfiltered response to the fear, grief, and resolve of the people we walk among. Music is not a solution, but it can be a voice when silence is too heavy.
To our community across Asia and around the world: please don’t look away. Not just from us, but from everyone whose lives are being rewritten by this violence. We thank Unite Asia for giving us space to speak—not just for our band, but for a people too often unheard.
To those we’ve lost: we carry your memory with every note.
To those still here: hold strong.
To the world: stay aware. Stay loud. Stay human.
