Decades ago…we got into music and skateboarding at the same time…the love and passion for both will always go hand in hand.
So this piece of news about Skateistan and Tone For Change collaborating on a pedal is badass news. Read on.
Tone For Change has launched a guitar pedal to support the work Skateistan. Skateistan is an award-winning international non-profit organization empowering children and youth through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. Through their innovative programs, Outreach, Skate and Create, Back-to-School and Youth Leadership, Skateistan aims to give youth the opportunity to become leaders for a better world.
Each pedal is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece made from repurposed skateboards used by Skateistan students in Afghanistan. “Skatedeck” is a limited edition fuzz pedal with 100% of profits from each sale going to Skateistan programs in Afghanistan, Cambodia, and South Africa.

A recent documentary made by Grain Media entitled Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone (if you’re a girl) just won an Oscar, and a BAFTA last week. The film is a short documentary that follows the progress of a group of girls at Skateistan in Kabul.
You can support students like the girls in the film by donating to Skateistan, where all proceeds go to supporting students in Afghanistan, Cambodia, and South Africa.
