Sai Ying Punx are the new kids on the punk rock block here in Hong Kong. The two-piece band have just dropped their debut EP ‘Manic City/Panic City’, recorded and mixed by Paul MacLean at Sunset Studio in Hong Kong.
Its five blistering sonic tracks weave you from the grimy underbelly of Wanchai to the sexy island of Discovery Bay. Tales of quixotic reveries in Kowloon on a summer’s day and misadventures in Mongkok are also not to be missed.
The Scottish-Singaporean duo decided to form Sai Ying Punx in May last year because there was nothing fun to do due to virus restrictions.
