Progressive Rock Act SOLVANT Release New EP ‘Servants of the Sun, Pt. 2’ [Singapore]

Singapore progressive rock band SOLVANT have released their new EP titled “Servants of the Sun, Pt. 2”. This concept EP is a follow up to their debut EP, “Servants of the Sun, Pt. 1” released back in December 2021. “Servants of the Sun, Pt. 2” continues from the narrative of “Servants of the Sun, Pt. 1”, and takes listeners on a journey through a city of ruin, where the narrator navigates a bleak and unforgiving landscape and explores themes of loss, regret, and the consequences of war.

Sonically, the song’s complex structure is underscored by the band’s unique musical style, blending dark, industrial tones with intricate guitar work and powerful vocals. The dynamic play between delicate and guttural tones provides the backdrop to a narrative of societal disorder, chaos, and destruction, central to SOLVANT’s self-described sound of “post-apocalyptic progressive rock”.

The release is accompanied by a music video for the lead single of the EP, “Hunting for Ghosts”, which further captures the EP’s haunting atmosphere through a 2D animated masterpiece.

The band will be playing a launch show on 8 June 2024 to celebrate the release of the EP alongside symphonic metal veterans Sangriento and up-and-coming alternative rockers IMPULSE. The show will be hosted in collaboration with ITE’s Audio Visual Production Management Club (AVPM), and will be held at ITE College Central Black Box.
