
KUWAISIANA, the dynamic bilingual alternative rock trio, known for their innovative fusion of Arabic and English lyrics, has released the official music video for their single “Gentrification,” a track from their recently released EP ‘Mishriff’. The video, directed by +Aziz and Hunter Boen, marks a profound evolution in the band’s creative journey, blending their signature sound with poignant visual commentary on cultural displacement and identity.
Formed in 2016 by Kuwaiti-American frontman +Aziz, Kuwaisiana has captivated audiences with their unique blend of grunge, indie rock, funk, punk, and Khaleeji elements. With their roots deeply embedded in both the US and Kuwait, the band’s music is a compelling exploration of Arab angst and the complexities of cultural identity. The trio, consisting of +Aziz, Yousef Shami (drums), and Brian Riedel (bass), brings a fresh perspective to rock music, challenging conventions and fostering cross-cultural dialogue.
