Philippines-based Sludge Doom Band Salot Release Cassette on New Hong Kong Label Mou Hoi

Stoked to see more of this international connection between our home here in Hong Kong and scenes we’ve been championing for years all over Asia. Recently we found out that Filipino sludge doom band Salot are about to release a cassette on a label out of Hong Kong called Mou Hoi. Having never heard of the label it was SUPER exciting to hear that a label in Hong Kong is actually 1) interested in sludge doom music, 2) is working with non-Chinese bands! Both of these things rarely happen…

We hit up Mou Hoi for the lodown:

“Mouhoi is a label that wants to focus on “experimental” and noise music. Releasing music is just a way for me to show appreciation to artists. Salot was introduced to me by a friend in NYC, I really liked it, so I decided to release their music under Mouhoi. They just hit the spot with slow and heavy instrumentals and harsh vocals.”
