“While the lyrics I wrote for the outro (performed by Hasan Asif who was the guest vocalist) are dedicated to my younger self, the more innocent self and I wish to meet myself back then to say one last goodbye,” states the vocalist of Pakistani doom metal band PRIMAEVAL on their phenomenally moving new single ‘Fireflies’. “The idea behind this song is revisiting past memories that I wish could have had a different outcome. The whole song revolves around feelings of misery and the latter parts of the song show glimpses of hope.”
The track showcases the band’s updated lineup including new drummer Mansoor Marty and Omair Farooq on bass (of popular Pakistani rock band Karakoram) as the bassist for their upcoming full-length. Besides the new members, the band explains, “We wish to feature more artists in the album to give a message of unity and acceptance on our end, no matter how cornered Heavy metal is here, our doors are open for all who want to create art. We are still hoping to collaborate with a more known band in this album, which is 50/50 given they are concerned about their image in the market and how heavy metal will “Not be helpful”. But I have good ties with those lads and I am hopeful it goes through. Because at the end of the day, Art has no boundaries!”
After this ONE single, can’t wait to hear more music for the boys!
