Sometimes, time off helps so many of us artists to further hone in our craft because the time off allows us to reflect on what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. Nepal’s metal giants – UNDERSIDE – have returned from their time off fired up and ready to take over the world. Their brand new single ‘Prey’ is a breathtaking display of a band who’re here to take over the world. (If only the world would listen to and care about non-Western bands.)
Here’s the context for the new single:
“After 3 years of working with children in the Himalayas of Nepal through Metal for Nepal, this music video reflects our dissatisfaction and commentary on the social stigma that still prevails in Nepali society, often in the name of witchcraft. These stigmas and deep-rooted belief systems ruin many women’s lives and have an unimaginable impact on their children. Underside will continue to challenge these ill-fated practices and hopes that they will be eradicated from our society altogether. This video is dedicated to all those beautiful souls who have lost their lives due to this sickening belief system. May you all rest in peace!”
RESPECT.

EDITOR’S NOTE: If we ever had any sort of financial backing – the three bands we’d take out on tour would be Nepal’s Underside, Philippines’ Valley of Chrome, and Thailand’s Annalynn. Imagine that tour rolling through Asia and the rest of the world? Goddamn…
