Nepali Shoegaze Band OUTCONTROLJOYS Release Debut Album [Nepal]

Following the release of two earlier EPs Division (Jan 9, 2021) and Unturn (Jan 9, 2023), Nepal-based solo shoegaze project OUTCONTROLJOYS unveils their self-titled debut full-length album via RIS RECORDS.

This self-titled release features 10 tracks including a bonus song. Blending emotive vocals, reverb-drenched fuzzy guitar and dreamy textures, the album flows between Nepali and English lyrics, exploring themes of mental health, inner struggle, and personal growth.

Opening with the instrumental intro ‘As It Goes By’, the album sets the tone for a melancholic wall-of-sound journey that continues throughout the album. ‘Cancerella’ is a cover track off of Nepali anarcho-punk band Rai Ko Ris, transforming it into their own gazy sound. The record closes with the introspective instrumental ‘Back Home’ followed by the bonus track ‘The Goodbye Song’, a tribute to the beautiful souls the singer has lost along the way.
