MANASIK KARAGAR, from the rugged eastern terrain of Nepal, have their new album ‘Narka Ko Gahirai’ which translates to “The depths Of Hell”. A listen to this will truly take you to the deep dark dungeons of hell.
Song-writer/Guitarist of this band says “I wrote this album after I broke my edge and reclaimed it back again. In the process, I truly experienced hell. In this album, more than the social issues on drugs & alcohol we have talked about before, I have delved deep down into the dark side of our existence. The good person we always try to be but acknowledge the evil that’s inside all of us”.
Here’s a track by track breakdown of the themes on the record:
Track one talks about losing precious belongings like friends and family in life in the pursuit of becoming a great person “Mahaan Byaktitwa”.
Track two, ‘Aatma samman bihin’ (Lack of self-respect), talks about the selfishness of ass lickers who will serve you until they get what they want. It’s brutal snuff movie lyrics on how such scum are gonna be tortured.
Track three is the title track. The depths of hell where it talks about the journey to hell when you break a promise to yourself and leave yourself disappointed.
Track four is about the betrayal from a life long friend. “Saathi” which means a friend in Nepali language. The main culprit of this betrayal was drug abuse.
Track five, ‘Nirdayi Sansaar’, translates to ruthless world. This track talks about a person who is finally a part of this world which is ruthless and holds himself accountable to be a culprit for the ruthlessness. Finally accepting that he has become a savage to survive in the society he lives in.
This album is also a prelude to their Nepal Tour 2025 named “Bhumigat Kala ra Sanskriti tour” which translates to “The underground art & culture tour”. In this tour, the band wants to promote underground music and culture all over Nepal.
Back in 2022/2023, the band did “Straight Edge Revenge” tour where they first time introduced straight edge culture in Nepal.
