25 years. What a journey 25 years is for any human being on earth, imagine what it’s like for a band. Especially a band that within that timeframe become one of the biggest acts. Period. The last time we saw this person live right in the heart of Manila, it almost felt like a religious experience.
Our friends in Filipino metal giants Greyhoundz have begun their 25th year as a band with a DOPE new single aptly entitled ‘XXV’. The track has their classic nu-metal/groove metal elements all over it but all done with modern production and shine. The video that accompanies the track is excellently shot and features a whole bunch of cameos from the community like peeps from Valley of Chrome, Typecast, Badburn, Intolerant, Tower of Doom, etc.
Luckily, vocalist Reg was kind enough to give us some more info about the song and the symbolism of the bus in the video. “So we are in our 25th year with the bus symbolizing the journey that this band has been on. The passengers/cameos represent all the different types of people we’ve met along the way. And we wanted this symbolism to cover the entire spectrum of people that we’ve come across. So the guests aren’t just from the heavy music scene but we even have hip-hop artists and actors as well. People like Shanti Dope, Ron Henley, Felix Roco, Ava Mendez, Antonio Brown of reggae band Chocolate Factory, Arci Muñoz, and vlogger Bogart the Explorer.”
Go smash that play button and feel the overall vibe of a band still killing it 25 years in.
