It’s not often that bands out here in Asia are able to announce vinyl releases of their music, so when it happens, it’s a big frickin deal. In case you’re wondering why it’s so rare for Asian acts to release vinyl, it’s because most decent vinyl pressing plants are out in the west and hence, shipping those records back out to Asia is frickin’ murder.
Today we get to help promote the fact that PHENOMENAL Filipino metal band, the mighty VALLEY OF CHROME, have announced a vinyl release of their fourth full-length ‘Victorious’ (originally released back in 2019).
Luckily, we’ve always had the pleasure of roping vocalist Rogel to provide us with some context (and we’re so grateful for his time each and every time!):
“Having this record out on vinyl is definitely another breakthrough for the band. As a record collector myself, it’s a career highlight. Also, being the album that Marcelo Vasco (Slayer, Hatebreed) did the cover for, it’s high time it got the 12 inch format. To be released by Eikon Records, this is one for the books in the band’s rich history.”
Just look at this beast of a cover!
“This also immortalizes a point in our career that we were out and about touring diff parts of the world. I also credit it as the album that brought us to Wacken, Germany.”
Pre-orders for the record are up now and the band has promised that records will be shipped out by the end of the year on Eikon Records. “Eikon Records is owned by Rick Olivares, he’s a music journalist and a real fan of music as well. According to him, he just likes putting out records of acts he really believes in. He got involved when he covered the “Victorious” launch years ago and he spoke to Jeff Keenan our Manager (Numinous) inquiring if we had plans to put it out on vinyl, eventually he took it upon himself to release it under Eikon Records Philippines, his own vinyl label.”
So on that note, don’t sleep on this! Get your pre-orders in now by DM-ing the label at this link HERE.
