In the heart of Greater Kuala Lumpur, a region brimming with energy and creativity, DRIFT is a band making waves. This newly formed four-piece hardcore outfit features members from HUTCH VS THE WORLD, KIDS ON THE MOVE, TRANSITIONS and BOULEVARD. Combining their collective experience, they bring a fresh and dynamic sound to the scene.
Driven by a shared passion for hardcore music, Drift quickly rose in the underground scene with their intense stage presence and powerful sound. Their music blends classic hardcore elements-aggressive riffs, pounding drums and raw vocals with a modern edge that connects deeply with today’s listeners.
Drift isn’t just about the music, they’re also about creating a unique visual identity. The band aims to connect the adrenaline-fueled vibe of motorsports with the raw energy of hardcore music. Their debut lyric video for “Burnout” is their first step in showcasing this vision, blending intense visuals with hard hitting music to give taste of what Drift is all about.
“Hardcore isn’t just music to us,” says Drift’s vocalist. “It’s how we express what’s real, what’s raw – it’s a way of life.”
Their lyric explore personal struggles, societal issues and the challenges of modern life.
“Hardcore is about community,” says Drift’s guitarist. “We’re not just playing for the crowd, we’re playing with them. It’s a shared release of energy and emotion.”
With new music in the works and more shows on the horizon, Drift is ready to bring their hardcore sound and unique aesthetic to even bigger stages.
If you’re looking for music that’s heavy, heartfelt and unforgettable, Drift is the band to watch. Catch them live and experience the raw power of Greater KL’s hardcore scene.
