
Malaysia’s own post-punk, darkwave & gothic pioneers reveals their new single “Tonight” on Friday the 13th, 2020 on all major streaming and download platforms worldwide with Asia’s specifically marketed platforms such as Japan’s AWA, India’s JioSaavn, China’s Kanjian, Net Ease Music & Tencent, Korea’s Vibe, Melon & Bugs under YG Entertainment and Anghami for Middle East listeners.
Produced, recorded and engineered by the frontman, Tun Farul Azri, the track is the second single taken from their upcoming album Parallels which already scheduled to be release somewhere on September 2020. To accompany the dazzling track, DEATH • BECOMES • HER is also planning on releasing an enigmatic official music video which expands on the mystifying concept of the song on their YouTube Channel next week on March 17th, 2020.
“Tonight” is currently receiving heavy rotation airplay on MMH – The Home of Rock Radio, Nightbreed Radio in United Kingdom and on Seattle, Washington based, Dark Mother Radio. The single has as well received good review from Belgium music maga- zine comes record label, Luminous Dash in Uitheems Geduister #70 column by Nel Mertens as the band released the song in the Europe first prior to their international release date.
“Tonight” opens up with an atmospheric arpeggiated synthesizer that is quickly offset by a hit of an orchestral timpani hit before escalating on a 16 beat, four-to-the-floor drum grooves that took the entire song into EBM (Electronic Body Music) theme. According to the frontman, Tun Farul, “‘Tonight’ is set on a different concept from their previous single, ‘Sanctuary of a Love Cult’ which is more of a gothic rock oriented structures. ‘Tonight’ is written with a club cultures in mind but with a darker twist that re-imagining the yesteryears of the Batcave night club in London from the 1982 post-punk underground scene.”
“We tried to re-create the 80s & mid 90s sound in the song along with the video concept. Re-imagining on what we’ve grown up watching on TV and listening on radios has shaped us into crafting the music,” recalls the bassist, Pitt Idris.
