Knocked Loose Cancel Manila – Promoters Soldier On Turning Show Into Benefit Gig

The details seem murky as, understandably, the amazing promoters in the Philippines – Sleeping Boy Collective and Still Ill Records – are stuck trying to figure out what to do with Knocked Loose suddenly canceling the Manila leg of their current Asian tour. The band has stated that they’re worried about their safety because of the recent volcanic eruption. We understand this was a recent event, however, we have been looking online to find out what kind of information is available that states that flights are currently impacted by what happened over a week ago. We can’t seem to find any…

Anyway…

The promoters have turned this into an opportunity to do something for their community by making it a benefit show to raise funds for those affected by the eruption.

They, of course, understand this will not appease all concertgoers, many of whom are flying in from all over the Philippines to watch, and thus they have made refund information available.

Please read the full announcement below. We think you should STILL be attending the show – because without supporting your LOCAL scenes and bands, you’ve got nothing.

“Hey folks,

We’re incredibly heartbroken to announce that Knocked Loose has decided to cancel their Manila show scheduled tomorrow at One Two Three Block. The band is concerned for their safety and their tour due to the current threats from Taal Volcano, despite best efforts to assure them otherwise.

But the show must go on. We are still pushing through, instead, turning it into a benefit show for those affected by Taal’s eruption. Anyone with tickets to Knocked Loose (US) – Live in Manila are free to come to the show. We sincerely hope everyone can still make it, but if you can’t, please check your e-mails within 24-48 hours for refund and donation options.

Thank you very much for your understanding and patience.
