Some Kind Gentle Soul Uploaded Japanese Metalcore Legends State Craft’s First Full Length

Yet another lovely thing to wake up to…our good friend Kore of First and Last Records (Vietnam/Japan) sent in this awesome piece of news.

Some kind gentle soul somewhere in the world uploaded legendary Japanese hardcore/metalcore act State Craft‘s debut full length To Celebrate The Forlorn Seasons to youtube. The record was released in 2000 and put out by Good Life Records. According to Kore, this release singlehandedly changed the face of the Japanese hardcore/metal scene. Listening back to this masterpiece, it STILL stands the test of time with all its Morning Again/Unbroken influences! Those riffs can easily be heard with the current resurgence of edge metal/H8000 inspired bands today. Listening back to this release makes us think of bands like Naiad that were huge personal favorite releases by Japanese hardcore/metalcore bands that amongst their tough as nails riffage, also packed in tons of emotions. That underlying feeling of despair was always there…that through their melancholy approach to writing music, were then able to provide hope to so many lost souls.

Kore was also kind enough (because clearly State Craft was a huge part of his life as well) to send us the last few tracks the band released before breaking up. You can check out those tracks below.

There is also rumors that people in Malaysia may be interested in re-releasing some State Craft on cassette??
