Heavy on the groove – Indonesian hardcore band OUTRAGE return on a 4 way split record released by GRIMLOC RECORDS. The band drops 3 new tracks and were kind enough to send in some background info on how this all came together.
“The 4 Way Split was initiated by Grimloc who are a big deal in the world of hardcore/punk and underground hip hop in Indonesia (based in Bandung). The label is run by Morgue Vanguard who himself is a legend in the underground rap world who goes by the name of Homicide, Bars of Death, Lord Cobra etc,.
For the past 4 months we’ve been doing through Java doing 3 cities a weekend every single month. In total we did 12 cities with the grand finale being Bandung. The tour took place prior to the digital release which I objected to but lost out in votes, but we did eventually sell a bunch of shirts and tapes.
These are the bands on the split:
Outrage – yours truly representing Jakarta
Extincted – Bandung hardcore – Best live sounding band on the bill, their guitarist is the live sound engineer for BURGERKILL) Drop A seven string metalcore, real chuggy.
NKO – Jogjakarta – Young beatdown padawans, their set incites the most fists and spinkicks!
Liedown – Surabaya – A personal favourite. Dig these guys, modern youth crew-esque hardcore punk. As an old man I can still hang with pile-ons and stagedives!”
There you go – from the homies themselves – go blast this new taste of current day Indonesian hardcore.
