Hardcore Punk The Rokkasen Release Debut Music Video And Debut EP [Hong Kong]

六歌仙 The Rokkasen – a new Hardcore Punk band from Hong Kong – has launched a video for its first single ‘賞花杏仁露 Step back to the almond blossom’ and a full stream for the ep ‘望月有感 Staring at the moon with feelings’.

六歌仙 The Rokkasen is the coming together of three “uncles” in Hong Kong’s Punk Rock, Hardcore and Metal scenes. Initially the project aimed to explore traditional Chinese poetry alongside a potent mix of darkened Hardcore Punk, Death Metal and Sludge. But with political volatility and the descent of their home into violence becoming commonplace on streets engulfed in flames, alongside law enforcement’s increasing use of new clandestine lows to suppress descent, a statement had to be made and it had to count.

Ultimately, this may simply be an exorcism of sadness and anger amid dark and uncertain days. But we may one day look back and remember this as a final “Fuck You” while the motherland’s hidden hand tightened its grip.
