Korean hardcore punk band THE GEEKS have announced their first show in over 4 years. Vocalist, Ki, was kind enough to send us some context:
“To clarify, we never broke up. Because of covid and Jun (one of our guitarists) now living in China, we just couldn’t play shows. Yes. Fuck covid. Jun is now back in South Korea and this is the reason for the “comeback”.
We released our new album ‘The Constant’ in 2019 and played two shows in Korea. Our last shows were in Japan, the Netherlands, the UK, Spain, and China. We even had bigger plans to go back to the US and southeast Asia but Covid killed all those plans.
Not playing a show for all these years has had a hugely negative impact on all of us. However, it has made us acknowledge and appreciate what this means to us even more.
Looking ahead, next year is going to be our 25th anniversary for us. Starting with this “comeback” show; we will reactivate our plan. We won’t be as active as before but we will most definitely start touring the world and will be releasing potential new music.
All of this will happen gradually but surely. No details plans but our ambition so far is we are just more focused on getting back in shape as a band and as individuals 🙂
We are just too excited for our first show in 3-4 years!
Hope to see you all soon!”
