Rising Malaysian metal band AVERIS has unleashed their second single, “Venomous,” a fierce follow-up to their debut track, “Aftermath.” This new release takes their sound to the next level, blending crushing heaviness, soaring melodies, and anthemic hooks to prove they mean business in the modern metal scene.
While “Aftermath” explored hope, “Venomous” dives into the darker side of human nature. The track delves into themes of guilt, atonement, and denial, capturing the final moments of an antagonist facing judgment for past sins too deep to undo.
The song unfolds as a tense exchange between the condemned and The Judge, who denies the man’s plea for redemption, deeming him irredeemable — a poison to society. “Venomous” questions whether true repentance can ever outweigh the sins commited by an individual.
The accompanying music video brings the song’s intense emotional core to life, featuring the band in prison uniforms amidst a bleak, isolating backdrop. This stark visual reflects the themes of guilt, isolation, and the search for meaning in a world where forgiveness is out of reach.
“Venomous” showcases AVERIS’s evolution, blending raw emotion with powerful instrumentation. With this release, the band reaffirms their commitment to delivering hard-hitting, emotionally charged music.
