Vietnamese progressive metal band, Lý Bực, utilize folk-inspired melodies as you can check out on their brand new single ‘Hoa’ off their upcoming EP ‘Tàn Tích’ out on June 3 on DEV Records. The band was formed in 2018 and has been actively experimenting with blending western soundscapes from djent-driven riffs to modern rock productions with folk-inspired melodies and poetic lyrics in Vietnamese.
The band provided the following background of this track:
“Họa” in Vietnamese means both to draw/paint and a disaster. While the lyrics portray a man’s beautiful painting of nature, it’s also about man’s realization of death and our finite time in this state of life. The rest is up to our own interpretations.”
