Filipino/American Band The Dollheads Drop New Single On Fat Wreck

What a way to end the year! Just when you thought we were wrapping things up, we’ve got a surprise for you: a brand-new song from Filipino American punk band THE DOLLHEADS. Their 7″ single, “Teenage Runaway”. Watch the music video and grab the 7″ before shipping closes for the year. Then, dive into what The Dollheads had to say about their new track below:

“During the COVID quarantine, we binged Freaks and Geeks over and over again. Its opening song, Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation,” had us so obsessed that we’d never skip the intro. Around this time, our band started writing music, drawing inspiration from musicians like Joan Jett and the Ramones to dive into punk. Teenage Runaway is the perfect tribute to the woman who inspired us and started it all: Joan Jett.”

Fat Mike ain’t messin’ around, and he’s got the receipts. Here’s what he had to say about working with The Dollheads:

“I saw The Dollheads play at the Punk Rock Museum. I liked them a lot. Then I found out they were siblings… I didn’t care. But when I found out the two older sisters would beat up their little brother if he screwed up a drumbeat… that was enough for me!”

The Dollheads are a sibling punk powerhouse hailing from Las Vegas, NV. Angela Avery (lead guitar, vocals), Samantha Avery (bass, backup vocals), and Austin Avery (drums) have been making music together since 2017. They officially formed The Dollheads in 2021 and began carving their own path, releasing their debut full-length album, What Teenage Angst?, in September 2022. Their follow-up EP, Et Cetera, dropped in May 2023, setting the stage for their Punk Rock Bowling debut and a string of major festival appearances, including Life is Beautiful (Las Vegas, 2022), Loud Women (London, 2023), Punk Rock Saves Lives Festival (Denver, 2024), and Rebellion Music Festival (Blackpool, UK, 2024). They’ve also played club shows at Punk Rock Bowling and Rebellion, toured the western U.S., and hit stages across England. Upcoming festival stops include Doll Fest (Berkeley, 2025) and Rebellion (2025).

Each member of The Dollheads brings their own voice to the lyrics, channeling themes rooted in their teenage experience. Their music taps into a nostalgic energy that resonates across generations, taking cues from punk greats like the Ramones, Joan Jett, Circle Jerks, Rancid, and Blink-182. It’s raw, relatable, and proof that punk’s heartbeat remains strong in the hands of the next generation.

The Dollheads continue to play shows regularly in Las Vegas and throughout the Western US, including the first-ever Doll Fest in Berkeley, CA, on March 1-2, 2025. The band is also slated to return to England for the third year in a row, playing this year on the main stages of the Rebellion Music Festival in Blackpool in August.
