Emotive Punk Band POETRYONHERSKIN Drop 2 Tracks Off Upcoming Album [Philippines]

POETRYONHERSKIN is a four-piece emotive punk band hailing from Southern Metro Manila. Heavily influenced by punk rock’s DIY ethos and grittiness, and the melodic instrumentation and poetic lyricism of 90s emo, the band plays music that blends raw, energetic performances with nuanced melodies and honest, thought-provoking lyrics.

The band has released two singles, “Adderall” and “Morals”, off off their upcoming debut full-length album “How Was Your Childhood?”

“Adderall,” a song that delves into the use of substances as a means of coping with emotional pain caused by bullying, explores themes of feeling helpless and out of control. It also highlights the struggle with the refusal or inability to seek both professional help and emotional support. To accompany the single, the band also released a music video which they filmed over a day.

“Morals”, which was released in December 2023, unapologetically takes pointed jabs at the current state of Philippine politics and exposes the blatant hypocrisy and greediness within the corridors of power.

“Adderall” and “Morals” are now available on all streaming platforms. The band is set to release their full-length album “How Was Your Childhood?” in October 2024 through Las Piñas-based DIY record label Calm Lake Records.
