Emotive Punk Band Irrevocable Drop Massive Track ‘For John and Robert’ [Philippines]

Philippines based emotive punk band Irrevocable have dropped a beautiful new single entitled ‘For John and Robert’. Please read the following write up to get a little background to the lyrics:

“For all the victims of pointless killings done for greed.

John and Robert were two of the four people kidnapped from a raid at the Holiday Ocean View Samal Resort in September 2015. They never came back home.

I was still working with an anti-terrorism unit back then, and one day I was assigned to transcribe a hostage video released by the abductors. Replaying it countless times screwed my mind. I could not hear any words anymore, I could only hear their fear.

John and Robert were murdered after a few months. I eventually quit that job after the last released video. Hearing the last struggling breath of someone being killed took a huge toll on my mental health. I was so sorry we could not save them. I was so sorry we could not take them home. – L”
