Emo Art/Punk Band THE BENEFICIAL SOCIETY Release Debut LP [China]

Chinese emo band, THE BENEFICIAL SOCIETY, have released their debut self-titled album. This 8-track (7-track on streaming services) covers a wide range of elements, including emoart-punkscreamopost-hardcoreshoegazefolk rock, etc.

This album is crafted for fans of second-wave and fourth-wave emo – they will love the vocals switching between singing and screaming, the guitars layered with twinkling and distorted walls of sound, and the drums that are both nimble and explosive. Simultaneously, the interwoven saxophone, violin, harmonica, clarinet, and French horn infuse these tracks with art-rock flair and energy. (You’ll even catch hints of psychedelic rock and blues elements in the latter half of the album).

The album is released by Chinese indie label HAPPY RECORDS (HPR-033) and Japanese indie label Ungulates (UNGL-040), who are also organising The Beneficial Society’s current Japan tour across Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo with Manila, Philippines’ twinkleviolence act Irrevocable (except Nagoya). Available on steaming services, CDs and Tapes.

FFO: Cap’n Jazz, Sunny Day Real Estate, Black Country, New Road, Texas is the Reason, Marietta, Title Fight, Merchant Ships, Jimmy Eat World, Oolong, Mineral, Dashboard Confessional, etc.
