This is VERY cool…whenever we get to write about new hardcore punk bands in regions like India, it’s always super exciting! And when the band has a LOT to say, it’s even better.

‘EW!’ – the debut demo by EXIT WOUND is rooted in queer, marginalized experiences and musico-political camaraderie. These tracks offer a furious cocktail of riot grrrl, hardcore punk and classic punk rock by stitching together angsty riffs, occasional breakdowns and ranty verses.

The sound and themes of the demo serve as an unfiltered manifesto against the system, lyrically centered around kicking oppressors in the teeth, reflecting socio-political issues relevant to queer, trans and marginalized identities of India and South Asia.

Exit Wound is a punk rock/hardcore band based in Mumbai and Pune, India. Formed in 2024 by POC and queer folx, the band is currently working on their upcoming album and a string of gigs around their home cities. With a clear-cut sonic and political vision, Exit Wound seeks to resonate with diverse listeners across global punk landscapes.
