Crossover Thrash Band F.O.D. Release Fullset Live Video [Thailand]

Check out Thai crossover thrash band F.O.D. on this fullset live video streaming below. The band were kind enough to send us some more information about the band. In terms of influences they stated, “Our biggest idol and primary influence is Slayer, without a doubt. While our music may not be as intense as the legendary Slayer, our chromatic, demonic-style riffs are heavily inspired by them. If you listen closely, you’ll definitely sense the legacy of this Big Four band in our sound. But of course, just mentioning Slayer alone wouldn’t be enough. We, especially Ameen (rhythm) and Tae (solo), have a deep love for old-school thrash metal—bands like Metallica, Slayer, Sepultura, and Attomica from Brazil have all shaped our musical approach. Additionally, we draw inspiration from death metal in certain aspects, as it fuels our creativity in powerful ways.”

The band has already two singles off their upcoming debut album to be released later this year. In terms of lyrical content, they stated, “Our lyrics revolve around themes of ghosts, demons in hell, and karma coming back for revenge. However, some songs take on a more fantasy-driven concept, like battles against vampires in the dark streets of Romania. There’s no fixed subject—it all depends on the concept we’re focused on at the time.”

As you listen to the music, it’s just so cool to hear more diverse styles of heavy music coming outta the fertile grounds of Thailand. So we had to ask about wanting to roll down the crossover lane. “Each member of our band has different tastes, but we all share a common musical ground. Green (vocals), Tae (solo), and Blue (drums) are pure punk at heart, while Top (bass) comes from a hardcore background. Meanwhile, Ameen (rhythm) has been an old-school thrash fan since childhood. Since these styles share common elements, we decided to play crossover thrash—a genre that lets us combine full-throttle thrash metal with punk two-step sections and hardcore breakdowns. At the end of the day, we simply found our middle ground in this style, and it felt right.”

Hell yeah – and you’re all doing it right!
